Opening Day!

If ever there was a recipe for a dull day in the market it has to be today.

Just about every religion has a holiday right around here, there are a bunch of baseball games on the ESPNs and the basketball game tonight.

The currency markets might be the exception as the dollar is getting hit probably off of the China paper tariff story from the other day.

It is hard to say what this will devolve into but this entire protectionist movement has the potential to cause some real problems with China. I do not believe they will cut off their own noses but the idea of poking them with a sharp stick doesn't seem so smart.

While we’re playing games, pick which chart is an authentic stock chart, and which is randomly generated.

Look up your topic on Google, then toss in "Roger", it often works.

thanks for getting those two links.

Barclays has another ETF of preferred stocks under ticker PFF that started to trade last friday. It looks like the largest holding by far is a Ford issue. I don't know that criteria for holdings and weightings are but Ford?

Generally I prefer individual issues for preferred stocks.
