Roger, I'm trying to remember in Slap Shot or one of the classic hockey movies -- wasn't there a 3-team goon squad?
Warren Zevon has a classic song about being a goon playing on a hockey team...

The goons in the movie are the Hanson brothers.
Re the NBA; I too have much less interest than I once did. It seems to me that winning does not become an immediate priority for enough of the players.
Sabres or Senators? Who has the worst logo?
The worst logo? It has to be the Edmonton Oilers alternate jersey, which looks like a big 'ol gear what sprung an oil leak. 2nd place goes to the Carolina Hurricanes, whose logo (actually the international symbol for hurricanes used on official weather maps) looks like a flushing toilet.
