Pakistan Oil

Pakistan raises $813 million from sale of 10% in OGDC

The above link is about the big oil company in Pakistan listing shares on the LSE, traded in US dollars. I get the impression from what I've read that there have been shares trading locally but that the LSE listing, and so easier access, is new.

I first wrote about Pakistan a year and a half ago. There clearly are a multitude of issues but the country and by extension Pakistani stocks are going to become more relevant globally in the next few years.

I don't know anything about the company, if I managed an emerging markets fund I would probably buy some but I don't so I'm not.

Roger, do you just make this up as you go along?

You would buy a stock you know nothing about?

I guess I should be surprised.
