Happy New Year. Hopefully you will add alpha to your account in 07. lol.
happy new year.
Engineers Rock!! yes we do!
The emphasis on more savings is well taken.
Not having to worry about alpha on a quarter by quarter basis appears to be the one large advantage that individual investors have. It allows both wiser diversification and longer term value strategies.
What are the other three types? Don't just leave us stuck with the engineers -lol.
Yes please fill us in on your brief stint at Morgan Stanley... as someone who inherited a MS account while back I would love to know some of the tricks of their trade (I'm no longer there of course)

It's not what you say but how you say it. To paraphrase the nonverbal communication. "I used to try to be smart like the other guys, but now I know I'm smarter because I can convince myself and my clients that the other guys are not. It's that simple." Or drop the smirk, and say, "I've looked in the mirror and know that modern portfolio theory is something that I can't comprehend. I have had to find a model that fits my own personality and skills. I take risks, too, but instead of quantifying it I take small narrow bets on individual stocks that feel right to me. Have a plan that fits your own personalty makes sense. My own pesonality type is (Roger you'll have to take responsibility for filling that one in. )" See the forest from the trees and take zen with you. Congrats on a great year.
