Something In The Air?

This morning I have found three different items talking about stagflation or some other horrible outcome for the US.

John Hussman

Bill Cara

Stephen Leeb as interviewed on TheStreet.com talking about $200 oil.

I have been open to the possibility of stagflation for quite a while. Things have been headed in the direction of stagflation for a shorter while. Obviously I don't know whether there will be stagflation and if there is I do not know how severe it will be, no one does. The thing here is that for now there is only visibility for it.

Investors need to learn more about the consequence, if it comes, and not rely too much on the economy is on fire analysis that is spun by some folks.

If the economy is in fact on fire, it is doubtful that your portfolio will get crushed and so the bullish case needs less of your time.

Stagflation is too strong a word -- Inflation is NOT 12%, and growth is NOT 0%.

We are at worst, dealing with demi-stagflation.

"The diet cola" of stagflation perhaps?
