Roger, you DO look a little like Lou... (no gray yet per your picture) Tom in Indy
I think that by being on televison and making stocks easier to understand, Lou helped increase the acceptance of IRAs, 401 (k)s, stock options and stock ownership. I think this created more risk capital for IPOs, and encourage the use of stock options by employers. All this has a result of spreading ownership wider in American society and increasing growth rates by increasing risk capital.
Looking at the lack of an "equity culture" in Germany or France, we can see that Lou help lead the US in the right direction.
