Converging

CNBC has tweaked its early morning programming. The network it starting to integrate CNBC Asia and CNBC Europe into what gets shown in the US.

This is something I have wanted to see happen since I first saw CNBC World back in 2002. So far so slow but its progress. Stock market TV is not for stock tips, it is for news and learning process. The global coverage of both is far superior to what we are seeing on the US version.

I have written about this on the blog in the past and I have also emailed CNBC asking for more cross-over coverage. Hopefully this is just the start.

The worst thing that CNBC has done with their AM lineup is relegating Mark Haines to one hour. Here is a guy with a law degree and
incredible street smarts. I guess it's all about ratings and young, pretty faces?

Mark Haines looks like a deer caught in the headlights. What a waste of talent. I saw him this morning interviewing some low level/no name on the floor of the NYSE. A true shame for Mark and any thinking viewers of CNBC.
