Weighing In On Bernanke

The dust has settled a bit on the Bernanke news. Here's my two cents. Yet again President Bush does not pick someone with market experience. I am a big believer in having the country's top money guys having experience working in capital markets. Obviously the president is not.

You may disagree with my thoughts thatthey all should be Wall Street guys but we have none. I think history will look favorably on Clinton's presidency because of Robert Rubin ( I am not talking about Clinton's morality problems while in office). What do you think Paul O'Neil and John Snow do for Bush's legacy?

Bernanke might do a great job as Fed chief and I certainly hope he does, I just wish he had a couple of different entries on his resume.

On a different note I posted some of our New Zealand pictures for anyone that cares. http://rrnz.blogspot.com/

I think the real question is: what does Bush do for Bush's legacy?

Great pictures.

Sorry, I disagree with you.
The position of the Fed Chair is much different than a position inside the white house. That person needs a good understanding of monetary policy and not just capital markets.
Do we want our monetary policy dictated by how the stock market behaves?
Just as Justices on the Supreme Court are at a unique postion in our judicial system, the Fed Chairman needs to understand macroeconomics and not microeconomics.
