Potpourri

Barron's has an article that discusses why this might be a bad time for the utility sector. I do like the sector but there is nothing wrong with a little negative sentiment if in fact the group is over extended.

I received and email asking me to mention something called the Carnival of Personal Finance being hosted at AllThingFinancial this week. The concept appears to be similar to Carnival of the Capitalist but with more of a personal finance focus. I don't write a lot about personal finance on this site but obviously you need to have that house in order to make an investment plan more successful.
I also received an email from Dr. Vino who is the brains behind a wine blog and web site that both focus on wine. While I am not enophile, which I learned from the site is what a "wine geek" is called, the sites look to have a lot of good info if you are an enophile.

The wine label included here is for our favorite wine, Maui Blanc. It is pineapple flavored and comes from the Tedeschi Vineyard in Ulupalakua, Maui. We visited the winery about ten years ago and I would recommend a visit to anyone. A couple of years ago Cost Plus started to sell this wine and a couple of others from Tedeschi. Having introduced many people to this wine I can say that you will either love it or hate it, there seems to be no middle ground.

For a Tour de France update; Lance Armstrong is in 2nd place by 2 seconds but more importantly may have dealt an emotional death blow to rival Jan Ullrich. I got up at 5:30 to watch the first stage live but it turns out that 5:30 was the start of the pre-race show. Doh! Double doh, really, because I went out on a medical call last night at 11pm.
